Following a career spanning twenty-three-years in Arts Theatre Management, Steve retrained with the Yorkshire Academy of Film and Television Acting (YAFTA) and gained a Diploma in Applied Screenwriting (Distinction) in July 2019, under the tutelage of Simon Stirling.

Steve’s latest commission has seen him adapt two books from the ‘Monster’ series, written by Donia Youssef, a screenplay ‘Monster’ and animation feature ‘Wonderland’. One of which has been commissioned and is due to be filmed in Spring/Summer 2022

Steve is currently working on a thriller script and a Drama with UK based producers. There are other commissions in the pipeline.

Steve is an independent scriptwriter based in Leeds with his partner and daughter.

 I recently gave Steve Sloan two sheets of A4 paper with my ideas and character biographies for a new drama series. Steve went away and wrote the pilot script. My characters now have a life, a voice and a sense of humour. The fictional places that they inhabit have become real. But most of all you really care about them and want to be part of their lives and follow them through their various stages of development. What I now have in front of me is the perfect director’s shooting script, the visuals leap off the page, the dialogue flows and the life stories are compelling. I have also had the honour to be script doctor on Steve’s recent projects for Donia Youssef and his own projects in development. Steve’s skill makes that task a pleasure.  I have known Steve for a few years, first meet whilst attending acting classes together in Leeds for the study of Film and TV. From day one I could see Steve's talent shine, both creatively as a performer and as a writer. His determination and dedication to his craft is something I have admired from the start.
